What a busy weekend at the Akins House! Friday evening we went to airport to pickup Jennifer's Mom. Madison & Reagan really enjoyed seeing all the airplanes fly over us as we waited for Granny to land. Reagan was in heaven, and kept pointing and saying "BIG JET"! After we secured Granny, we braved the crowds and took our inaugural trip to Chucky Cheese in Cordova. Or as Madison liked to call it, Chucky CheeseIts! They had a really fun time, and definately did not want to leave! Jen & I on the other hand, could not get out of their fast enough. I can only be bumped into and ran from so many times, before I have had it! There were tons of things for them to do, and they both ran themselves ragged. As a Chucky Cheese rookie, I brought unfed kids into the place. Big Mistake! BIG! I would like to challenge each of you to try to get (2) two-year olds to take time to eat at when all the flashing lights and sounds are going on everywhere around them. Again, Big Mistake. But we survived, and had lots of tokens left over for next time :)
Saturday, we woke up to rain and cold weather. Not an ideal climate for two year olds. That means being couped up all day inside (ie - tear the house apart). So Jen had the great idea to give the Children's Museum of Memphis a try. So after naptime, we loaded up the kids (including Whit Byrd) and headed that way. This was also our first trip there, but will not be our last. I give this place a rave review, and suggest all folks that have kids to get theirs down there and let them experience alot of new things. They got to play on police cars, firetrucks, go grocery shopping, play dress up, etc. A good value for a cold rainy day! On the way home, since I was so close, I stopped by Central BBQ and got some dinner!! I was immediately in my happy place for the rest of the night :) Just thought I'd throw that in there.
The weekend ended on Sat night and Sunday with both kids running a fever, and having snotty noses. This cancelled our church plans for Sunday morning, and we just laid around the house and attempted to rest! This weather is making everyone in the house sniffle, and hopefully we will all be back to 100% soon.
Hope everyone has a good week! Please enjoy the pics from Chucky CheeseIts & Children Museum of Memphis.
